...for two global drummers, oriental dancer, soprano and
orchestra is an orchestral realization, by composer Judith Sainte Croix, of a Global Jazz piece written by R.A. Fish in 1978, entitled "Gateway to Eternity."

Their collaboration has resulted in a lavish tapestry of drums from around the world woven within rich orchestral textures. A unique collaboration between jazz on the cutting edge and contemporary classical composition, this piece was conceived as an Anthem of Celebration for the New Millennium.

In the piece, an "Angel of Fulfillment" brings a message of empowerment for all people to reach their full potential. Amid whirling Sufi dancing and drumming patterns representing all the worlds' people, the angel delivers her message. In the end, the chant "ohm shanti" (which means peace), can be heard soaring above full orchestra brimming with energy. Compassion is defined as "a state of mind that is nonviolent, non-harming and non-aggressive. It is a mental attitude based on the wish for the self and others to be free of suffering...and worthy of respect." The Dahli Lama

This definition conveys the composers' wish for the new century.
